E3P is seeking a motivated and independent individual to join the E3P team and contribute to the expansion of our services by providing exceptional landscape architecture expertise to complement our existing ecology services.

As the Principal Landscape Architect leading the expansion into Landscape Architecture, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the daily management of the department. This includes managing commercial and technical operations within the division and actively building and nurturing a client base.

You will report to the Ecology Associate Director and broader company Directors as part of the delivery of this role.

You would work out of the Manchester office, in a semi-hybrid working structure, however would be expected to work throughout the UK.

Key roles and responsibilities associated with this position:

  • Involved in all aspects of projects which includes resource allocation, budgeting, scheduling, risk assessment and ensuring quality and safety standards adherence. Must work closely with the E3P Ecology division.
  • Working on Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA).
  • Be involved in the production of working drawings for detailed planning or construction packages.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the new Landscape division in alignment with the overall E3P organisational goals. This involves setting objectives, defining strategies and allocating resources effectively.
  • With support, build and lead a high-performing team of Landscape Architects/Consultants. Provide strong guidance, mentorship and support to team members, ensuring their professional development and fostering a positive and progressive work environment.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the new division’s client base and increase revenue.
  • Recognise where current clients of Ecology may benefit from Landscape Assessments and work closely with the Associate Director of Ecology.
  • You will stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in the Landscape sector. Provide technical guidance and expertise to both the landscape and ecology team, and also the wider disciplines at E3P, review project designs and reports and ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations and industry best practices.
  • Foster collaboration and effective with other departments and divisions within the organisation.
  • Provide input and support to the main company board of directors, contributing to strategic decision-making, strategy and implementation of the wider company goals and objectives.
  • Be able to liaise with regulators and external organisations.
  • Produce hand drawings and computer-generated sketches / concepts for a variety of schemes.

The successful candidate will have:

At least 5 years of professional experience. Experience working within a consultancy is essential.

Proven track record of successful delivery of projects, including examples of project management.

Have a full, clean driving license.
